| Password Vault Program New Version 5.21 Compatible with Windows XP(SP2) -> WIN10
This program was initially designed to be used by friends, and I did not paid too much attention to possible faults program might have. Since the first program's listing on this webpage some ten years ago, I noticed many downloads, and I felt guilty for not having this program in better form. This new version addresses some graphics issues and some bugs, created when a combination of some unusual events will occur. The automatic updating to this version from the very old version is also included. Unfortunately, that does not guarantee this program is free of bugs. Should you encounter some problems with this program, I would appreciate very much your feedback and I promise to address the issues raised as soon as possible. (Use 'Contact' shortcuts at the bottom of this page, please.)

| What is “Password Vault” program and how it can be useful?
Internet shopping, banking and sometimes even only browsing requires using all different passwords, card and pin numbers. As if this is not bad enough to remember them all, they also have to be frequently changed as well! With Password Vault program, all what is to be remembered is only one password, and even that can be stored in encoded form on hard disk, memory card or USB stick. This program will then automatically retrieve it, decode it and then use it to unlock all other passwords, card’s numbers and pins stored in the program.
These passwords or any information stored there can be retrieved by navigating to the desired password icon and pressing right Mouse button. The password will be displayed, together with its description in two of program's text boxes. From there it is easy to copy and paste password to any program, waiting for an input (see example below).
Program will not just securely store your passwords, but it will also prevent any malicious programs or viruses monitoring keystrokes and stealing your passwords, credit card and pin numbers, etc.!
Password Vault program for Windows PC is compact, portable and easy to use. It can be stored and run from any hard drive, removable memory card or USB stick. Storing it on removable card or USB stick enables you to carry your passwords everywhere you go. And they are safe there, since they are also encoded. The only one encoding password, which locks all other passwords etc., is not kept anywhere, unless you wish to do so via one of program’s options. The same copy of Password Vault program can be used by many users with different login names and passwords.
The program uses advanced coding algorithm “Blowfish “, designed by one of the best world’s cryptographers - Bruce Schneier, Chief Security Technology Officer, BT, http://www.schneier.com.
“I know of no successful cryptanalysis against Blowfish. Bruce Schneier in his book “Applied Cryptography”.)
There is no need for installation, activation or Internet connection and the program never expires. Program does not collect, store or send any information to anywhere and it only does what is designed for: Securely stores and retrieves your passwords, card's numbers, pin numbers etc.!
| Example::
Joe downloaded Password Vault program on one USB stick, and when he runs it for the first time, he creates user "Joe" with a login password, which could be up to 56 characters and/or digits long. He then enters all his pin numbers and passwords for Internet banking, credit card numbers and stores them in Password Vault program.
When he needs to do some Internet banking or shopping, he opens the browser, navigates to the bank's of shopping site, and when asked for login name, password or pin number, he simply inserts USB stick with his stored information. Then he starts Password Vault program and in displayed Windows Joe clicks on icons representing the desired information, like for example his login password to banking.
This way Joe doesn't have to remember all these different passwords etc., but he also eliminates typing them via PC's keyboard. This is important, since many viruses and illegally installed programs monitor the keystrokes, and send that information away to some rogue site. There it can be processed and used to gain access to your accounts, credit card, etc.
All the passwords, card and pin numbers, etc. are stored on Joe's USB in encoded form and to reveal them, Joe's login password has to be supplied when opening Password Vault program
Joe can lend his USB stick to other members of his family, and every member can have different login name and password. That way every member will have their own set of private information on the same USB drive.
